I am a systems admin for the navy and currently we have users experiencing issues logging in with a new CAC.  We have verified that the account has been setup correctly.  We also updated to the DOD certs.  The error that comes up is

"The system could not log you on. Your credentials could not be verified"

I'm not sure what could be causing this.  Normally "Credentials cannot be verified" is a network connection issue.  Can this person logon to other computers?  Can anyone else logon to this particular computer?  The EDI-PI should not have changed between cards.   Whenever I have gotten this error before, I would pull my network cable out, then logon to the computer with my cached credentials.  Then plug the cable back in.

I'm a network admin having this same issue with an employee and the new CA-20's.  Myself and other users are able to logon to his workstation but the user with the new CAC can't.  If I hook a second CAC reader to my pc I can access his card in ActiveClient and it's showing the presence of his certificates.  But, when he tries to logon to any workstation he gets an error that his credentials can't be verified.  Are there any known problems between the CA-20's and windows logon?

Have the latest DoD certs been loaded onto the workstation and server?  You can find a link to several different download locations on: https://militarycac.com/dodcerts.htm  The DoD certs are at version 3.15A and has been since 16 September 2011.

I also have 9 possible cures for you located at:  http://militarycac.com/errors2.htm#ACTIVECLIENT  problem 2
