YOU CAN USE YOUR CAC WITH WINDOWS 7

YOU "MAY BE" ABLE TO USE YOUR CAC WITH WINDOWS 8

Installation Steps

Step 1: Obtain a CAC Reader
Step 2: CAC Reader driver / Video
Step 3: DoD Certificates / Video
Step 4: ActivClient / Video
Step 4a:  Update ActivClient
Step 5: IE Adjustments | Video
Log into a CAC enabled webpage now to test
Step 6: Lotus Forms / Video
Step 7: ApproveIt / Video

The Windows 7 Install is no different than it is for Vista, XP, or 8, so please use the Installation steps on the left.

You do have an another option if you have a PIV II compliant CAC.  Look on the back of the card above the black magnetic strip.  There will be either: "Gemalto TOP DL GX4 144" (see example below) or "Oberthur ID One 128 v5.5 Dual" (see example below).  Since Windows 7 has a built in Smart Card utility, you "may" be able to use your CAC without the need of ActivClient.
