ApproveIt 6.1 works on XP, Vista, and Windows 7 https://chess.army.mil/ascp/commerce/download/silanis_approveIt.jsp (The CHESS website has scheduled outages: Saturdays between 2-5 AM EST and the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of the month between 7-12 PM EST)
If you are still having problems accessing the software outside of the hours listed above, please read below. Click the link titled: Download Software (you may need to login). If you do, you will have to navigate to the left side of the page and click: Software, Army Funded Software, Silanis ApproveIt. Click link titled: Download Software, click link titled: Silanis ApproveIt Desktop Software (it is the largest file (in size)). Save to your desktop or My Documents (This file is 45.7 MB, so it could take a while to download). Once it is downloaded, double click the file titled: ADT6.1.exe, Select Run, Select the Browse button, make note of where it wants to save it to. You can change the location, I recommend you select your desktop. Select OK, then Unzip. Select OK at the message telling you to select Setup. Go into the new ADT 6.1 folder on your desktop (or where ever you saved it at) and Double click setup.exe (it will be 82 KB in size) (or might say bootstrap) (Windows 7 users will be prompted with the User Access Control, simply select Yes), [If you are prompted for a Serial number, you selected setup.msi]. The program does not inform you when it finishes installing. I recommend you go to: Uninstall a program (Vista / Windows 7), or Add/Remove Programs (XP) to ensure the software installed (it will be titled: ApproveIt Desktop). Restart your computer, then come back to this page to use the Sample Form link below.Use this Sample Form to test your digital signature. NOTE: This will only work on Internet Explorer. If you are using Firefox, Chrome, Safari, or Opera you will need to right click the "sample form" link and select Save Link As / Download Linked File As / Save to Download Folder. Save it to your desktop, then test from your desktop. If you are not familiar with signing forms with your CAC? Look here for instructions. CONGRATULATIONS, YOU HAVE NOW SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED ALL NEEDED PROGRAMS ON YOUR COMPUTER. APPROVEIT INSTALLATION PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS The ideas on this website are from my personal experience. The "official" response is to send XP & Vista users to the Army Publishing Directorate so they know about all of the problems with this program. 703-428-0545 or apdfcmp@conus.army.mil (If you are using Windows 7, they will NOT help you), you will have to try my ideas. APD Installation guide for ApproveIt 6.1
If you are interested in knowing how to digitally sign a memorandum, this is how to do it (Word 2003 & 2007 only)If you need to completely uninstall ApproveIt, follow this information.
To get DA forms go to the Army Publishing Directorate website http://www.apd.army.mil/ , click on the DA Forms button http://www.apd.army.mil/USAPA_PUB_formrange_f.asp under EForms, find the form you want (in the range of form numbers). Right click the XFDL link to the right of the form you want, Select Save Target As. Save it to your computer and you will have the form for later. You can also click the link, it will open up your Pure Edge software automatically. You will use the Save As link at the top of the page to save your form.
You can use the following link to download all available Lotus Forms / PureEdge forms in a single zipped file. http://www.army.mil/usapa/eforms/index.html#eforms_range It is recommended if you want to use this .zip file [with all the forms], you [at a minimum] redownload the file once a week. This is due to forms being made obsolete, updated, new forms being added, etc. This way you are sure to have the most current version of any form that is available. You will want to use the "click here" for the XFDL files, which is located in the middle of the page.
