STEP 4b:  INSTALL ACTIVCLIENT 6.2 via CD

(THIS SOFTWARE ALLOWS YOUR READER TO COMMUNICATE WITH WINDOWS)

I purchased ActivClient CAC Version 6.2 from Envoy Data Corporation for $65.00 + $10.00 S/H.  I received it in about 8 days.

As of: 26 December 2009, A new option has come become available, using compatibility mode to install ActivClient 6.1 onto your Windows 7 (32 bit) computer.

On 6 December 2009, the only version that worked with Windows 7 (32bit) was 6.2

If you have Windows 7 (64bit) you can use the same ActivClient 6.1 as Vista 64 and download it from AKO, visit here for download and installation instructions.

ACTIVCLIENT 6.2 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Insert CD into your CD/DVD drive, it should autorun. (If it doesn't autorun, open up Computer, navigate to CD drive and double click Start).  Double click Run Start.exe, Select: Install (upper left corner under Home), Install / Upgrade Now, Next, Select "I accept the terms...", Next, Typical should be already checked, Next (on setup type), Install, Uncheck the Show the readme file box (unless you want to read it). Hit Finish.   You may be prompted with an Installer Information box.  [Select Yes, only if you have not already installed the CAC driver in step 2] otherwise select NO.  The program does not close out.  So, you will have to Select Cancel once you finish to close the program, then select Yes to cancel the installation.  Then finally Finish. (I didn't write the program. :)

YOU ARE FINISHED (IF YOU ONLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO LOGON TO AKO WITH YOUR CAC).
