STEP 4a:  INSTALLING ARMY ACTIVCLIENT 6.1 ON A 32-BIT WINDOWS 7 COMPUTER USING COMPATIBILITY MODE (other agencies, look below)

If you only have access to ActivClient 6.1 and have Windows7, Please give the instructions below a try using: Compatibility mode.

Compatibility mode will save you money compared to purchasing ActivClient 6.2.  If Compatibility mode doesn't work for you,  the only option left is to purchase ActivClient 6.2 from Envoy Data, SCB Solutions, or TX Systems visit here for installation instructions.

Download ActivClient from:

Click on zip file titled:  ActivClient 6_1 for CAC (30691.11 KB zip file) save to your desktop, then follow instructions below.

Here is how to verify that you have the 32 bit version of Windows 7:

Right click Computer, Properties.  Look under the System section, System type: you will see 32-bit Operating System.  (If you have 64 bit, look here for installation instructions).

ACTIVCLIENT 6.1 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Once downloaded, Right click the .zip file you just downloaded, Select Extract All, Next, It will now prompt you where to extract it.  The default choice will be the same folder you downloaded it at.  Select Next, (it will now extract your files into a new folder).  From inside the newly opened folder, Right click Start, click Properties, then the Compatibility tab, click the little box next to: Run this program in compatibility mode for:,  Select Windows Vista (Service Pack 2) from the drop down menu then hit Apply, then OK (at the bottom of this screen).  Now double click Start, Select: Install, Install / Upgrade Now, Next, Select "I accept the terms...", Next, choose Typical, Next (on setup type), Install, [It may "hang" for a few moments at this point].  Uncheck the Show the readme file box (unless you want to read it). Hit Finish.  Close out the ActivClient CAC installer page  

YOU ARE FINISHED (IF YOU ONLY WANT TO BE ABLE TO LOGON TO AKO WITH YOUR CAC).
